The film won a Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, a Diploma at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Award in 1966 (hob),¬† Certificates of Merit at Moscow, Barcelona, San Francisco, Vancouver, Acapulco, New York and Mannheim.
