Last Service

#IrishFilm: Dark new poster for Bertie Brosnan’s short film Last Service

Kerry director Bertie Brosnan has released the new poster for his latest short film, Last Service. The short documentary is Bertie Brosnan’s third short film, and is one of two shorts that Brosnan is producing with funding from the Cork City Arts Council. The second of which has yet to be completed.

Last Service follows a gravedigger (Stephen O’ Connor) as he carries out his typical day and imparts his personal philosophy on life & death. With Stephen being literally on the front-line of death almost every day, the film aims to serve as a somewhat poignant piece.

Last Service marks the second fully-completed film for Brosnan’s newly established production company Escape Thru Film. His first is the feature film Con, which will be released next week to festivals.

The film shot in Cork city with the aid of Cork City Council. Brian O’Connor, who served as DoP on Con, also performed cinematography duties on Last Service. Brian Lane acts as composer and sound designer, and Philipp Morozov performed colour grading. The poster above was designed by Ray Foley.

Brosnan hopes that the film will hit one of the more renowned film festivals very soon. More information is available via
