Awards: Nominations are in for the Young Directors Awards 2016

CPI and ICAD have joined together to bring us the Young Directors Awards 2016. Following an open submission process we now have the finalists for the Awards ceremony, which will be held in Dublin’s Sugar Club on February 23rd.

The nominees include some of the finest up-and-coming directorial talents in the land, ranging from directors of award-winning shorts like James Fitzgerald, Maria-Elena Doyle, Dave Tynan, and Ciaran Dooley to those involved in producing iconic and memorable commercials such as Kate Dolan and Phillip Montgomery. These have been broken down into 5 categories, Film School Work, Music Videos, Test/Spec Commercial, Commercial Work, and Short Film.

The competition’s aim is to find, award and nurture the best of the up and coming directors in Ireland today. The organisers have been blown away by the response to the inaugural Young Directors Awards and look forward to welcoming all the nominees and guest to the Sugar Club on 23 February.
