#IrishFilm: Principal photography wraps on John Carlin’s sci-fi short Echoes

Principal photography has wrapped on a new Northern Irish science-fiction short, Echoes, from director John Carlin.

On a distant planet two blue-collar workers transport a prisoner from a mining colony to the distribution hub – only to discover she is not the real danger onboard.

The cast consists of Nigel O’Neill (Dinosaurs, Bad Day For The Cut), Katie Goldfinch (Crucible Of The Vampire), and Antony Acheampong (The Legend Of Tarzan).

Echoes was funded through NI Screen’s Shorts To Features programme, and shot on a purpose-built set at the Film & TV College in Bangor, Co. Down. The crew on the short was a mix of professionals and students. VFX is being performed by Streetmonkey in Belfast.

Echoes was written by Paul Skillen and Aaron Gray, and edited and produced by director Carlin through his production company, Causeascene Films. Louise Gallagher is also a producer on the film, with Mark McCauley as DoP.
