Now funding on FundIt is A.L., a new fantasy short film from writer/director Cashell Horgan and Made Image Films.
A.L. is the story of a surveyor clerk meets his match when he ventures into a wood a farmer wishes to cut down. A fantasy, comedy, terror.
The film stars Declan Rooney (The Savage Eye, Bridget and Eamon) as the surveyor clerk and Joe Mullins (Pilgrim Hill, The Clockmaker’s Dream) as Mr. Spencer.
Writer/Director Horgan is best known for his short The Clockmaker’s Dream, which has won a number of awards both home and abroad. Russell Gleeson (Vikings, Ripper Street) is the DoP, with additional cinematography by Paul Shannon. Makeup is by Linda Mooney (Watermelon, Man about Dog) and Susan Kenny (The Young Offenders), with costumes by Louise Stanton. The short is produced by Lyn Hong Yang (The Clockmaker’s Dream).
The film is currently at the post-production stage with VFX artists led by Liam Neville from Egg Post Production creating the fantasy world and providing picture grade with CGI animation from Graham Isherwood, Australian artist Andy Thomas and Mali Arts in Mexico creating the unique forest elementals. Sound design is by Shane O Toole and Barry Reid of Gorilla post-production, with a most unusual sound score by Eoghan Horgan.
The project was given some support by Limerick City Council toward production. Money raised via FundIt will go towards one day pick-ups, Studio time, CGI animation, visual effects, compositing, sound mix, music, picture grading, and festival submission costs.
