Festival: Brosnan makes it two in a row at Cannes with Sineater

Before we launched GearrScannain we wrote about the crowdfunding campaign of Kerry filmmaker Bertie Brosnan for his new short film Sineater on the Scannain main site. Today news comes that, following the successful funding campaign, the film has been selected for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival.

This selection marks the second year in a row that Brosnan has had a film screen there, following Jacob Wrestling With The Angel in 2014.

Sineater is a dark tale about a young successful businessman who returns home to visit his Mother but who awaits him is a mysterious driver claiming to be a family friend.

Brosnan, who wrote the script, also stars in the film, alongside Joe Mullins (Pilgrim Hill), Sean McGillycuddy, Jeanne O’ Connor, Laura O’ Loughlin, and Malwina Kupidura.

Full details of the film can be found on Facebook or Twitter.
