Having featured at last month’s Palm Springs International ShortFest, Stephen Ryan’s Rip It Up & Start Again continues its American odyssey in August.

The film will play in competition at the Oscar qualifying FLICKERS: Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF), which takes place August 4th to 9th.

At the end of August¬†Rip It Up & Start Again will screen at the Sidewalk Film Festival in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 28th to 30th. The Sidewalk Film Festival was listed by USA TODAY in 2013 as “One of the Top 10 Places for a Fabulous Film Festival‚Äù and one of ‚ÄòThe 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World 2014‚Äô by MovieMaker.

The film sees a postman’s dog watch as he strains over writing a letter, which he eventually tries to deliver. But to reach the object of his desire he must first get past her pint-sized guard dog, which is easier said than done.

Rip It Up & Start Again stars Derek Tapley and was shot in Dublin by newcomer DoP Penny Merelle-Gray. It was edited by Colin Campbell with music composed by Kevin Whyms and location/post sound & sound mix by Arron Faye. EMC Post completed the on-line edit.

Rip It Up & Start Again screens at the Rhode Island International Film Festival Wednesday August 5th at 6.30 pm, and at the Sidewalk Film Festival on Saturday August 29th at 12.30 pm.
