Miles Forster’s new Irish short film Heart Overheardstarring Dylan Townsend (Hipsterverse) and Bronagh Waugh (The Fall, Hollyoaks) will premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh this Saturday.

Heart Overheard tells the tale of happy-go-lucky yet hapless Edel whose neurotic mind chatter audibly navigates her journey from work to home and the peril of encountering various strangers at dusk. With one in particular will she listen to her heart or her head?

Shot in Vancouver city centre, this heart-warming short chronicles the many encounters we face in any city on our journey from work to home and the obstacles we must navigate such as strangers, danger, friend or foe… In this day and age, is it right to question everyone and be hyper aware of potential threat? Should we go with our gut instinct? Or should we open ourselves up to possibilities of brave, new and exciting opportunities? Who knows…. the love of your life may have just passed you by.

Townsend has spent the past year travelling between Vancouver and LA developing the second season of Hipsterverse with Canadian production company Hadron Films. While in Vancouver he shot a comedy pilot They Mean Well with some cast from Hipsterverse and also wrote and produced Heart Overheard. Townsend is back in Ireland developing his road trip comedy film The Irish Goodbye and has developed Heart Overheard into a 10 part digital series to be pitched in North America in the coming months.

Heart Overheard premieres at the Galway Film Fleadh this Saturday, July 15th as part of the New Irish Shorts 6 programme.
