Submissions open for 8th Fastnet Film Festival, May 25-29 2016

Submissions are now open for the 8th Fastnet Film Festival, which will be held in Schull from May 25th to 29th, 2016. The Fastnet Short Film Festival is a major showcase for Irish and International short film production focusing on the craft of film, and is regarded as one of the best film festivals in the country. It is renowned for being the “Film Festival with no Cinema”, as various shops, pubs and restaurants around Schull are transformed by creative  festival volunteers into mini cinemas to screen short films that are submitted from around the world.
Submission guidelines

  • All submission entries must have been completed no earlier than 1st January 2014
  • The submission entry should not have been entered into FFF in previous years.
  • All submission entries will be watched and evaluated by our team of Selection Judges.¬†Submitters will then be advised if their¬†film has been selected to go further in the competition.
  • All entries submitted will¬†be screened at least 5 times throughout the village of Schull during the festival, as long as the film abides by the rules and regulations.

  • 31 January 2016 – deadline regular submission ‚Ǩ25
  • 7 February 2016 – deadline late entry¬†‚Ǩ30
  • 14 February 2016 – deadline last entry ‚Ǩ50
  • 25 May 2016 – 8th Annual Fastnet Film Festival Opens
  • 28¬†May 2016- Short list in each category announced
  • 29 May 2016- Short listed films screened
  • 30 May 2016- FFF 2016 Awards ceremony

BEST IRISH SHORT FILM – Cash Prize €1,250
BEST YOUNG FILMMAKER (Under 22) – Cash Prize €1,250

BEST MADE IN CORK – Cash Prize €500 (Sponsored by Cork County Council)
BEST DRAMA – Cash Prize €200
