Irish filmmaker Tristan Heanue’s latest short film Ciúnas (Silence) will screen at the 31st Galway Film Fleadh on Saturday, July 13th at 10am as part of the Irish Talent: New Shorts 6 – Fiction programme.
Ciúnas, which was the winner of the Físín pitching competition at last year’s Dingle Film Festival, is an Irish language short film that follows a couple embarking on a journey in the midst of a family crisis.
It stars Gary Lydon (The Guard, Calvary, Pure Mule, The Clinic), Ally Ní Chiaráin (The Drummer and the Keeper, Michael Inside), and rising star Hazel Doupe (Float Like a Butterfly, Michael Inside, Calm With Horses).
Heanue once again teamed up with cinematographer Narayan Van Maele (Gutland, Gridlock). In addition to screening at the Fleadh, Heanue has been selected as on one of the Bingham Ray New Talent Award nominees. This is the first time that a short filmmaker has been nominated for this award.
